Special skill of Visually Impaired Persons 9 – how does visually impaired people vote?

The District Council Election will be held in November. Are you ready to vote for your favorite candidate? How do the visually impaired people give a vote and practice their citizen responsibility.

Same as us, the visually impaired people will go to the general polling stations. If they would like to know more about the election, they can call the enquiry hotline that is set up by the Registration and Electoral Office. The staff will tell them the information of the candidates and other election information. On the other hand, they can also read the list in braille containing the candidate or candidate list number, name and the name of the prescribed group provided at the polling station.  Besides, the polling station will also provide a template to facilitate the visually impaired voters to fill their own ballots. If necessary, the electors may request the presiding officer to mark the ballot in the voting room according to the their choice in the polling station.
