Volunteers

Introduction

As a non-government organization providing comprehensive services for the blind and visually impaired population in Hong Kong, volunteers are essential assets to ensure the smooth running of our services in areas of rehabilitation service, residential service, general eye and low vision service, employment service, educational and community support service, barrier free and support service.

Objectives

Volunteers Development Service aims at maintaining and building up a volunteer pool / database and a referral system that best match new volunteers to appropriate service units. It also aims at launching promotion programmes, recruitment exercises, training and appreciation scheme to motivate volunteers to help in the Society's services, especially in agency functions.

Volunteers Participation

Other than agency functions, e.g., Flag Day and Walkathon fundraising events, volunteers could help the routine services, outdoor activities and interest class, etc.

Volunteers cum Corporate Partners/Supporters Appreciation Scheme

• Individual and corporate volunteers will be awarded when the accumulated service hours fulfilled the following standard in two years:

Corporate partners/ supporters fulfilled the following standard(s) in two years will be awarded:
•Volunteering
•Giving
•Mentoring
•Employing the Vulnerable
•Procurement of products or services provided by social service organizations or social enterprises
