The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Family Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired
Introduction
With generous donation from Mrs. Helen Kwok & Master Edward Kwok, Sunnyside Club & the Rotary Club of Peninsula, the first Parents Resource Centre for Visually Impaired Children commenced operation on 13 August, 1998 under the auspices of the Hong Kong Society for the Blind.
Since 2001, the Social Welfare Department started to provide limited financial support to the Centre for provision of some of its services. As from 1 April 2008, the Centre received funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Centre is renamed as The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Family Resource Centre for Visually Impaired as from 1 April 2017.
Objectives
The Centre aims to foster a holistic development of the visually impaired students through different individual and group activities, to cultivate good parent-child relationship between sighted parents and their visually impaired children, and to build up supportive network and mutual help among parents to care for and promote the rights of the visually impaired.

Target Groups
Visually impaired children or youth aged 30 and below, their parents and family members.
Fee
Family as a unit and $50 for a two-year family membership
Application
Membership applicant shall complete the application form and return to the centre with membership fee and medical certificate issued by a registered ophthalmologist regarding the degree of visual impairment of the child or youth.
Withdrawal
Please visit the Centre or call our staff to complete the withdrawal procedure.
Service Hours
Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 10:00am - 12:00pm; 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Friday: 1:00pm to 8:00pm
Sunday and Public Holidays: Closed
