So Excited! The New Electronic Audible Traffic Signals Pilot Scheme has been launching. What is the difference between the new and the old scheme? Let’s introduce to you as below:

Under the pilot scheme, new devices will be installed for testing at 21 locations in different regions of Hong Kong. Compared with the old generation, the new generation are equipped with the following enhanced features: Touch-less pushbutton, Light illumination, Tactile map, Voice message of crossing location and Night-function mode. It is believed that the most visually impaired people are looking forward to the night-function mode. Under this mode, visually impaired people could use mobile app or token to increase the sound level. It is more convenient for them to cross the road and reduce the impact of noise for nearby residents.
