See and Touch - Fun for Inclusion
To celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Factory for the Blind (FTY) and 20th Anniversary of Family Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired Center (FRC) under HKSB, we organized “See and Touch – Fun for Inclusion” event on 20 October 2018 at Kwun Tong apm mall. It was our honour to have Mr. Caspar Tsui, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare to be the Officiating Guest of the Ceremony.
Art without boundary, we used “Art Inclusion” as the theme of this celebration event. A djembe performance by a group of visually impaired and disabled person kicked off the Ceremony, Ms. Jessica Chiu, ADA Green Leaf Artist gave a special sand painting performance to introduce the development and service features of FTY and FRC. In addition, visually impaired persons and people with disabilities demonstrated their talents via different inclusive stage performances during the event. Apart from stage performance, Rico, the founder of Beyond Vision Project lead the public to experience tactile arts and ceramics art pieces created by the visually impaired were displayed. Last but not least, blind-folded ceramics workshop were welcomed by the public.
Mr. Caspar Tsui, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, the Officiating Guest of the Ceremony recognized the contribution of the FTY and FRC to the community, and congratulated the anniversary of these two units.
