Award Winning for “A Trip of Memory” Project

The familiar chime of a bus bell and the announcement of “2F and 64K Bus Terminus” do more than recreate a journey—they help unlock memories, spark conversation, and reconnect residents with their past. This is the spirit behind “A Trip of Memory: Narrative-based Cognitive Stimulation Program (NCSP),” an innovative collaborative project that received the “Age-friendly Collaborator Award” under the Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme 2024/2025.

The success of A Trip of Memory exemplifies the power of cross-sector collaboration. It unites expertise in speech therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical engineering, frontline NGO care, and corporate social responsibility to create a truly holistic support model for dementia care. This collaboration extends beyond Hong Kong, with plans to expand soon to leading low vision occupational therapy academies across the Asia-Pacific region and globally.

For HKSB, this collaboration reinforces our commitment to working with partners to develop innovative, practical, and impactful services for visually impaired older adults in Asia Pacific and Global connection. As the project expands, it offers a meaningful example of how research, service, and community partnership can come together to improve quality of life for some of the most vulnerable members of society. It will further expand to the further development in Tuen Mun Home for the Aged Blind ahead.
