Opening Ceremony of the Yuen Long General Eye and Low Vision Centre cum 2016 World Sight Day Vision Screening

Because of the redevelopment of the Yuen Long Home for the Aged Blind in 2011, the service of Yuen Long General Eye Care and Low Vision Centre located inside the Home was suspended. The new building – Jockey Club Yan Hong Building was commenced, and the Centre located at the Ground Floor of the building starts to serve the residents in Yuen Long and N.T. West again.

To celebrate its opening, the “Opening Ceremony of the Yuen Long General Eye and Low Vision Centre cum 2016 World Sight Day Vision Screening” was organized on 12 October 2016. We have also provided vision screening to 40 kindergarten students at the Centre.  

We have announced the vision screening results of 2,160 kindergarten students. Around 9% students suffered more than 100 degrees of short sight, 300 degrees of long sight or 150 degrees of astigmatism.
