Deepening Cross-Border Exchange for a New Chapter in Visual Impairment Services

Deepening Cross-Border Exchange for a New Chapter in Visual Impairment Services the delegation toured our General Eye and Low Vision Centre as well as the Assistive Equipment Service Centre

We were deeply honored to welcome Mr. Li Qingzhong—Member of the National Committee of the CPPCC, Executive Board Member of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, President of the World Blind Union Asia-Pacific, and President of the China Association of the Blind. Mr. Li led a high-level delegation comprising leadership from major eye hospitals in Beijing, Hunan, Guangxi, and Guangdong. We hosted a professional dialogue of profound significance.

Accompanied by our Chief Executive, Mr. Sean Fong, the delegation toured our General Eye and Low Vision Centre as well as the Assistive Equipment Service Centre. Throughout the visit, experts from both regions engaged in constructive discussions regarding low-vision rehabilitation techniques and the practical application of assistive technologies. Mr. Li and his team expressed high appreciation for HKSB’s model of integrating clinical care with technology.

The value of this visit lies in the creation of a reciprocal communication mechanism. By aligning HKSB’s rehabilitation expertise with the extensive service networks of mainland China’s leading ophthalmic institutions, we aim to collectively enhance the quality of life for the visually impaired community.
