2015 Best Practice Award in Social Welfare
We were pleased to announce that our “Pilot Project on Communicator Service for the Deafblind” won the “2015 Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare” among 86 submissions.
The Best Practice Awards has been organized every alternate year by the Hong Kong Council of Social Services (HKCSS) since 2003, with the aim of giving recognition to good practice, promoting public awareness of the contribution of the welfare sector and enhancing cross-service professional exchange and sharing of experiences. The theme for 2015 Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare is “Inspire Potential and Facilitate Collaboration for the Better Society”. It gave recognition to the creative projects that aimed to develop and transform potential of service users into community assets.
The award presentation ceremony was held on 12 November 2015. Representatives of our Society, a deafblind service user and his communicator, received the award from Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare and Mr. Bernard Chan, GBS, JP, Chairperson, HKCSS.
