Live Audio Description for the 44th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony

Since 2022, our Information Accessibility Centre has partnered with the Hong Kong Film Awards and ViuTV to provide live audio description services for the Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony. The 44th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony, held on 19 April this year, marked the fifth year of our collaboration. We are honoured to continue supporting audience members with visual impairment through live audio description, enabling them to take part in this annual cinematic celebration in real time and share in the excitement and memorable moments of the awards ceremony.

We would like to express our gratitude to the 4 audio describers, Cuson Law, Shirley Tsang, Stella Leung and Kiki Leung, who remained at the ViuTV studio throughout the evening to provide live AD for the ceremony, delivering the on-stage visuals and key details for the visually impaired audience. We would also like to thank AD scriptwriter Belinda Kwan for preparing the AD scripts for the nomination clips, ensuring the smooth delivery of the live AD broadcast.

We look forward to providing more accessible film programmes for the visually impaired community, while promoting AD services so that the public can better understand the importance of accessible entertainment, thereby promoting cultural inclusion.
