Bright Smile Scheme
The Hong Kong Society for the Blind thanks the Drs. Richard Charles & Esther Yewpick Lee Charitable Foundation and the Jing Yuan Charity Foundation in supporting us to launch the Bright Smile Scheme. The scheme aims to provide eye examinations and dental care services to low-income or unemployed visually-impaired and deafblind people with priority given to those aged 55 to 65 VIs and deafblind people.
The eye examination services include social work & low vision consultations, along with fundus photography, visual field examinations, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Additionally, funding is available for the purchase of suitable assistive devices. The dental care services encompass dental examinations and treatments, such as teeth cleaning, X-ray assessments, dental restorations (fillings), and non-surgical tooth extractions. We aim to raise participants' awareness and concern regarding their eye and dental health.
