Online DOT Shop is Available

Career Support and Development Center aims to provide diversified vocational training to our service users. We established a new training platform, “DOT Shop” which is a retail store located at our Headquarters, for our service users to have internships and workplace training.

Develop - Operate – Transfer. One of the purposes of establishing "DOT Shop" is to develop trainees’ knowledge and skills in retail stores. Through the participation in daily store operation, trainees are able to familiarize the workflow of a retail store. They can transfer the knowledge and skills from working in DOT shop to the open employment workplaces in the future. The training platform, which adopts a streamlined training model, provides service users who are intended to join the retail market with practical training.

"DOT Shop" has been in operation since September 15, 2020. It has successively increased the number of products up to around 200 items. It also provided internship opportunities for 4 visually impaired members. One of our members even received a full-time job offer during the internship in  “DOT Shop”. It is an encouraging news for our members. It proved that internships in “DOT Shop” not only allow trainees to practice relevant knowledge and skills, but also enhance personal confidence as well.

In order to align with the nowadays retail market’s development and enrich the retail training elements of “DOT Shop”, "Online DOT Shop" was launched on 20th January, 2021. One visual impaired member started to have internship in our “Online DOT Shop”.
