Centaline Charity Run cum Carnival 2017

Over 75 visually impaired runners ran for charity together with their guide runners

 

“Centaline Charity Run cum Carnival 2017” co-organized by The Hong Kong Society for the Blind, Centaline Property, Centaline Club and am730 was held on 8 January 2017 (Sunday) at the Hong Kong Science Park successfully.

 

The Honourable Mrs Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fun, GBS, JP, member of Executive Council and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation officiated the Kick-off Ceremony in a warm and sunny day. Participants included over 1,500 runners, 100 teams of parent and kid, 75 visually impaired and their guide runners joined and ran towards their goals.

 

The Opening Ceremony and Prize Presentation Ceremony held in the afternoon on the same day, many guests and visually impaired persons came to support the event. We were hourour to have Mr Mattew Cheung Kin-Chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare to officiate the Ceremony. In addition, Mr Wong He, famous artist hosted the inclusion game session, he invited audience and visually impaired runner Gary to play game on the stage to create happy atmosphere. The carnival also attracted many people to participate, everyone has spent a relaxing and meaningful Sunday with their family members.

 

The funds raised will be donated to our Library service for the visually impaired and audio description service after deducting all expenses.
