2016 Pacific Foundation Tandem Charity Ride 100 pairs of sighted and visually impaired riders completed the first-ever tandem charity ride

It seems impossible that a visually impaired person is able to ride a bicycle, but we created a new page for them and the dream came true. To celebrate HKSB’s 60th Anniversary, we organized 2016 Pacific Foundation Tandem Charity Ride on 27 November sponsored by Pacific Foundation Securities Limited, which was the first-ever tandem charity ride in Hong Kong.

Mr. Gregory So Kam-leung, GBS, JP, Acting Financial Secretary and Mr. Ho Hau-cheung, BBS, MH, Chairman of the Sha Tin District Council officiated the Kick-off Ceremony, 100 pairs of sighted and visually impaired riders and around 100 bicycle riders gathered at the starting point at Fo Yin Road in the early morning, included our event ambassadors, Ms Jamie Wong and Mr Marco Kwok and their visually impaired partners Mr Rex Wan and Mr Ken Tsang, respectively completed the 10-km route along Chong San Road.

The Prize Presentation Ceremony was organized at Amphitheater of the Science Park at the noon on the event day. It was happy to have Mr Stephen Sui, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare and Mr Simon Wong, Acting District Officer (Sha Tin) to officiate the Ceremony. We have nine awards to the individuals and groups who donated and raised the highest amount of donations. In addition, Jamie and Marco shared their feelings after finished the charity ride in the Ceremony. Last but not least, we have organized stage performance and game booths, which attracted many people to participate.
