- “Starry Night” opened the first chapter of “Music for Happy Listening” Journey
The Hong Kong Society for the Blind organized “Launching of “Starry Night” - The first MV Performed by the Cheers Band” in the Hong Kong Maritime Museum on 16 May 2020. The Cheers Band is formed by a group of MDVIs from our Morning Glory DAC cum Hostel and Home of Delight. Since 2006, they shared their happiness and promoted positive living via music in different community events. In 2019, it was grateful to obtain sponsorship to complete the “Let Them Shine” programme, and launch their first CD album which included one original song and eight adapted songs. Moreover, supported by City University of Hong Kong, the first music video “Starry Night” was produced.
Inclusion music achievement
Mr. Moon Yip is the composer and lyricist of “Starry Night”, while Mr Hang Lai is the producer and Mr Yimu Zhang is the director of the music video. This song is the achievement of the Cheers Band and a group of young musicians, it also demonstrated the abilities and positive life of the MDVIs. One of the lyric “I believe we are all the same” represented the feeling of the band members. The music video used the lighthouse as the background, and different views shown while the members visiting the lighthouse. All members put a lot of effort to sing and perform in the music video.
We deeply appreciated to all donors and the production crew to make this happen, and create a brightness life with hope for the Cheers Band.
