Factory for the Blind held "The Open Day of 60th Anniversary"

The Open Day of Factory for the Blind 60th Anniversary held successfully with 600 visitors on 19 Aug 2023.  Through this event, not only with the support of schools, social services practitioners and related business companies, we also gained public recognition through their participations and supports. We would like to present our cordially gratitude to the guests including: Mr. Andy, Lam Siu-hong - Kwun Tong District Officer, Mr. Lau Wai Ming – Managing Director of Ngong Ping 360,  Ms. Lam Siu Kuen of Assistant Benefits Commissioner of the Social Welfare Department, Ms. Lai Po Kwai of Ping Shek District Council Committee, Kwun Tong Western District Council Committees and The Council Committees of The Hong Kong Society for the Blind etc, who enhanced and encouraged the “60th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony”for the Factory for the Blind.

In the similar case to our theme of " Fly – New chapter for the occupational rehabilitation services are created by Factory for the Blind “ that the services users were trained and equipped with their better personal growth and job development through the diversified programme activities, they look like a plane flying over the sky. It helps the service users for better job seeking and problem solving skills to increase their chance of success in open employment and their social inclusion enhancement.

The enrichment activities included:  service guides, working experimentally stalls, interactive games, inclusive workshops, sense-feeling experiments and yummy snacks.  By participating in this event, the public can understand more about the service users’ capability and skill of work. It was an affirmation of the enhancement of disability inclusion.  

To thanks for our corporation guests who had supported Factory for the Blind more than 10 years, Factory presented the gifts of “Cactus Aroma Stones”, were handmade by the service users. To represent the meaning of strong living attitudes from the service users who are similar to the same as “Cactus”, that never give up attitude will be spread out through the Aroma Stones to every corner in the society.
