2011 Volunteers cum Corporate Supporters Appreciation Ceremony

The “2011 Volunteers cum Corporate Supporters Appreciation Ceremony” was successfully held on 25 March 2011. More than 300 volunteers including individuals, service groups and organizations were awarded Golden Diamond, Purple Crystal, Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards; while 36 individuals, groups and corporations were awarded “Caring Partner” or “Caring Corporation”.

We were grateful to Ms Nancy Law, Chairman of HKSB, Mr. Fong Kai Leung, District Social Welfare Officer, Shamshuipo, Ms Camilla Tsang, Chairman, Fundraising & Promotion Committee of Agency of Volunteer Service, Ms Candy Chea, Founding President of Hong Kong Volunteer Awardees Society and Ms Wong Ming Yan, 2008 Ten Outstanding Young Persons, for their presence to officiate at the Ceremony. Ms Annie Liu, famous artist joined us as the Master of Ceremony and Mr Denise To, actor of “The Legend is Born - Ip Man” came to the Ceremony to show his support to the volunteers.

To celebrate HKSB’s 55th Anniversary, “Long Service Awards” were presented to volunteers who had made continuous contribution to HKSB over the past years. 76 volunteers were awarded the 10 to 30-year Long Service Awards. Ms Chan Sau Kuen, a loyal and experienced volunteer, has spent a total of 36 years in giving voluntary service to the visually impaired persons.
