Award background: The Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) is an international Awards Program initiated by the Multimedia Development Corporation of Malaysia. The objective is to provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals, students, entrepreneurs, SMEs and organizations in ICT.

The "Tele-digital Library for the Visually Impaired" ICT project has won the merit under the theme, e-Inclusion and e-Community among 9 entries from five economies (cities or countries) in the Asia Pacific Information Communications Technology 2008 (APICTA 2008) in Jakarta, Indonesia in November 2008.
