The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Parents Resource Centre for Visually Impaired Children

Introduction

The FIRST Parents Resource Centre for Visually Impaired Children operated by the Society commenced operation on 13 August, 1998. The set up of the Centre was made possible through the generous support of Mrs. Helen Kwok and Mr. Edward Kwok, Sunnyside Club and the Rotary Club of Peninsula. As from 2008, the Centre receives a 3-year Community Project Grant from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to support its services by covering the recurrent and programme expenses.

The Centre provides on-going support to visually impaired children and their family members through the provision of various support services. It aims to facilitate the motor, cognitive, language, social and emotional development and rehabilitation process of the visually impaired children.
