The 12th International Mobility Conference |
|
It is our greatest honor that the Hong Kong Society for the Blind will be hosting the 12th International Mobility Conference scheduled to be held from 27 November to 1 December 2006 at the Langham Place Hotel, Hong Kong, China. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I wish to extend you my cordial invitation to the 12th International Mobility Conference (IMC).Next year will be a memorable year for the Hong Kong Society for the Blind, as we shall be celebrating the Golden Jubilee (50 years anniversary). Established in 1956, the Hong Kong Society for the Blind has been making innovative and conscientious efforts in launching various rehabilitation services such as rehabilitation training, vocational and employment guidance, advisory services on aids and appliances and access facilities for people with visual impairment, braille and talking books production, eye care and residential care for the visually impaired elderly and those with multiple handicaps. The theme of the Conference is “Orientation & Mobility in an Inclusive Society? It is our hope that the 12th IMC will serve as an important exchange forum for the professionals working for the visually impaired and for those who wish to improve the social well-being of the handicapped by establishing a user-friendly living environment, to share with each other the Orientation and Mobility work you have done, new developments and new plans you have in mind to achieve the final goal for the construction of an inclusive society. I look forward to your active participation to make the event a success.
