Introduction
Apart from rehabilitation training, an additional service, Community
Support and Recreational Services, has been established in 2006
to provide support and programme activities for both visually impaired
people and their families so that they can live independently in
the community.
Objectives
To provide emotional support, psychological counselling as well
as organize and conduct recreational, educational and developmental
activities and groups for those visually impaired waitlisted for
rehabilitation training and the graduates.
Services
1. Individual Services
Counselling, teaching of simple daily living skills and home visits.
2. Group Activities
- Interest groups and classes to meet the needs of people with
visual impairmen
.
3. Outdoor and Indoor Activities
- Recreational activities such as outings, tours, over-night camps
and festive activities. Educational and developmental activities
like visits, talks, etc.
4. Community Life Education
- Educational programme in community development and the resources
available in the community.
Target Group
- For people with visual impairment aged 16 and above and their
family members.
Application Procedures
Service users can join our Community Support and Recreational Services
by membership system.
